II. The First Church  In Jerusalem  
   A. The Lord's Church is the Lord Kingdom - Mt. 16:17-20
   B. The Lord gave Peter and the Apostles the keys to the Kingdom - Mt 16:18 & 18:18
   C. The Holy Spirit came on the Apostles and the spoke in 17 different tongues ( languages ) Acts 2:1-12
   D. Peter said Jesus was the Christ - Jesus said this was the rock on which the Kingdom's built Mt 16:18 /Acts 2:36
   E. When the believing Jews asked what to do to be saved - Peter said
Repent and be Baptized  Acts 2:38
   F. They would receive forgiveness of sins and Holy Spirit as a down
payment of God's eternal gift - Acts 2:39
   G. God " added " them to THE Church - Acts 2:47
   H. The Lord's Kingdom was for the Jews and the Gentiles - Acts 2:39

III. After Becoming A Christian
   A . They continued in the Apostles Doctrine revealed by the Holy Spirit
      i) they could learn directly from the Apostles
      ii) today we must study God's Word
   B. Fellowship on a daily basis
      i) tight knit family  with common bonds
      ii)  ate with one another in each others homes
   C. All things in common
      i) shared with Christians they did not have enough
      ii) to share with our brothers in need is a basis of Christianity
   D. Worshipped
      i) went to the Temple
      ii) Lord's Supper
      iii) prayer
   E. Evangelism
      i) every day the disciples sharing the Good News
      ii) result - daily baptisms
      iii) their joy was contagious
   F. Results
      i) had favor with the people
      ii) their actions and love for one another drew people to their Lord

IV. We Can Be Like The First Church
   A. We know God blessed them
   B. The key is do everything they were told the way they were told - not add to or take away from the pattern
