I. King Nebuchadnezzar The King Of Babylon Sets Up A Golden Image To Be Worshipped - vs. 1-7
   A. About 15 years has transpired since Chapter 2 and Daniel and the three boys are now in their 30s
   B. The King has forgotten the one "true" God 2:47
   C. About 300,000 officials come to the dedication ceremony; they must bow or be burned alive

II. Other Officials Conspire Against Shadrach , Meshach , and Abed-Nego vs. 8-12
   A. Chaldeans ( wise men ) are jealous of the Jews
   B. They remind the King of his command
   C. The three Jews you set above Babylon have not bowed before
the image

III. Confrontation With The King vs. 13-18
   A. He offers them a second chance to worship his image
   B. They know that it is a sin to bow before or serve other gods
- Ex. 20:4
   C. The King asked “Who is this god who will deliver you ? "
   D. The men said we don't need time to consider your offer
   E. Our God whom we serve " is able " to deliver us and even if
he does not we " will not serve " your god

IV . Showdown At The Furnace vs. 19-30
   A. The furnace was heated 7 times hotter than normal
   B. The men that put them in the furnace were destroyed
   C. Inside the furnace the men were unharmed and a 4th man " like
the Son of God " was with them
   D. When they came out of the furnace, no harm had come to them
and the King degreed that no one could any god but their God

IV. Take Homes
   A. Everyone spends time in Satan's furnace - there is no doubt
   B. The question is who goes in there with you? These men had their Lord
   C. Their faith said God is able - we must be his children to count on him
   D. They also said “but even if he does not “we will not sin!
