ALL ARE EQUAL IN GOD'S SIGHTS
James 1:9-11 ; 2:1-13
I. Prejudice Is A Problem That Everyone Faces
A. Prejudice means prejudging another without knowing the person and already have a negative opinion
B. In God's sight there is neither bold or free , male or female - we are all one in Christ Jesus - Gal : 3:28
C. The Church is God's place for showing how to practice this command
II. Application Of This Principle
A. God expects us to be treated equally regardless of how much we have or who we are
B. Even though the downtrodden brother thinks he may have failed , Christ died for him just like the wealthy brother
C. Money or position will not purchase spiritual security but he that does the will of God Mt 7:21
D. They both obey the same Plan of Salvation
E. The Lord is no respecter of persons 2:1 ; Mk 12:37
F. This does not mean that we should not have special friends
( e.g. David & Jonathan ; Paul & Timothy )
G. Example of how NOT to treat people 2:2-4
III. We All Have To Work On This Principle
A. God had to work a miracle to get Peter to understand -Acts 10:34-35
B. We can practice " reverse " discrimination without meaning to
C. The Lord welcomed everyone the rich ( Nicodemus ) and the poor ( outcasts in Lk 15: 1-2 )
D. Because the Lord people properly , even his enemies realized that he was doing good - Mk 12:15
IV. Christians Live By The Royal Law - Lk 10:25-37
A. The Good Samaritan was a real neighbor to someone totally different to himself
B. The Lord said go and do likewise
C. How can we ask for God's mercy and not give it to others ? 2:12-13
