HOW TO BE SUCCESSFUL AND PROPER

Joshua 1:7-8

  I.  God promised Joshua that he would be spiritually successful

     and proper as he led God's people.  verses 7-8

 
II.  God used several ways to lead Joshua.

      A.  God convinced him of past accomplishments with Moses.  verses 1-7

      B.  God challenged him to have proper attitudes.

           a.  Joshua needed to be strong.  verses 7-9

           b.  Joshua needed to be courageous. verses 6-9

           c.  Joshua needed to be fearless.  verse 9

      C.  God gave Joshua an assignment.

           a.  God told Joshua to go over and possess the land.  verses 2-4

           b.  What assignment has God given me?

      D.  God gave Joshua an action plan.

           a.  God told Joshua to read His word obediently and be ready to obey.  verses 7-8

           b.  God told Joshua to meditate on His word and let it become his will.  verse 8

           c.  God told Joshua to believe and follow His word.  verses 8-9

     E.  God promised to help Joshua.  verse 9

III.  God gives us assignments that we don't understand but when we are finished
our lives are better because we obeyed.
