THE GIFT OF SERVICE
John 3:1-17
I. Jesus teaches his disciples in the upper room. John 13
A. Jesus was motivated by love. verse 1
B. John mentions love 105 times.
C. A new commandment "Love one another" is given John 13:34-35
The disciples were arguing who was the greatest. Luke 22:24
II. Jesus teaches his disciples by washing their feet.
A. Personal instruction brings accountability. verses 12-14
B. Jesus' example creates responsibility. verses 15-16
C. Happiness is serving. verse 17
III. God's plan is for Christians to serve others.
A. Let him serve others. Romans 12:5-7
B. Be able to serve others. I Corinthians 12:28
C. If any serve, let him do it with the strength God supplies
so that God may be praised. 1 Peter 4:11
D. Service is a talent God has given to us to use.
IV. Take homes
A. A person with a servant's attitude wants to bring glory to God.
B. The way up is the way down.
C. Servants develop strength through weakness.
D. Servants get joy from the development of others.

WEDNESDAY BIBLE STUDY . We are on Lesson 6 in the Study of the book of Romans. A great Video presentation by Richard Rogers, followed by a summary and discussion.
The next LADIES CLASS MEETING will be held Saturday, Dec. 1, 2007, at 10:30 AM in the Fellowship Hall. Please join us as we learn more about the Women of the Bible. Subject for the next lesson will be Delilah, taught by Betty Randolph and Tricia Cobb.
POTLUCK: The next potluck will be Sunday December 9th. Please bring your wonderful dishes for the potluck as usual. We will have a box set up next month to collect funds for future potlucks, but this month will remain status quo.
