Romans Chapter 8
I. Introduction: Romans 8 brings the ministry of the Holy Spirit
to believers into clear focus. Prior to this chapter, the Holy Spirit is mentioned only one other time in the entire epistle ( Rom. 5:5). But here He is referred to nearly twenty times.
II. Chapter 7 of Romans illustrates how wretched and hopeless one is without Christ.
III.Chapter 8 of Romans we see 24 blessings which are the results of being in Christ.
A. Life through the Spirit vs. 8:1-11.
B. Led by the Spirit vs. 8:12-17.
C. Future Glory vs. 8:18-27
D. More Than Conquerors vs. 8:28-39
IV. Summary of Romans Chapter 8:
A. Begins in Verse 1 with “no condemnation”
B. Ends with verse 39 with “no separation”
C. The verses in between with “no defeat”
V. All Spiritual Blessings Are In Christ - Eph. 1:3
A. Sons of God – Galatians 3:26-29
B. New Creation - 2 Cor. 5:17
C. Raised up with Christ – Eph. 2:6
C, Salvation – 2 Tim 2:10
VI. How shall we get into Christ where these blessings may be obtained?
A. Baptism is the ONLY way INTO Christ,
B. Peter on the day of Pentecost said “repent and be baptized for the remission of sins.” - Acts 2:38.
C. Example of the Eunuch – Acts 8:35-39
