LIVING IN TWO WORLDS

    I.  We all have two problems.

      A.  We all must die.

      B.  We all must be judged.

 II. What must I do to prepare for the judgment?

     A.  I must live in the world.

     B.  I must not let the world live in me.

III. Abraham is a man who did that successfully.

     A.  Abraham lived in Ur .  Genesis 11:27-12:2

     B.  Ur was a beautiful city with great benefits.

     C.  He was a stranger in a secular city.

     D.  He looked for city built by God which was permanent and 

          whose foundation was God.  Hebrews 11:8-11  
    

IV. When we serve God we can be like Abraham.

     A.  We do not belong to the world.  John 15:18-19

     B.  Our citizenship is in heaven.  Philippians 3      

     C.  We set our hearts on things above.  Colossians 3:1

     D.  Our treasures are stored up in heaven.

  V. The world offers physical things whcih are temporary and will decay.

IV. Heaven is eternal where we will live with God and the redeemed forever.


VII. Take homes

       A.  Remember who we are; heavenly citizens on earth for a little while.

      B.  Jesus is our passport to heaven.

      C.  This world will never really satisfy us.

      D.  We interpret the world in terms of heaven, not the other way around.
