The Life God Blesses

Acts 9:32-43

I. A Life That Is Marked By Ministry  vs. 32-33

   A. Peter was busy ministering to others ; God uses busy people to get his work done

   B. Peter quit fishing for fish and fished for men

   C. How are we ministering in the name of the Lord ?

II. A Life Marked By Humility  vs. 34-35

   A. Peter emphasized the power of God - not himself

   B. God will not bless a person full of himself

   C. God used the healing of one man ( Aeneas ) to convert many

III. A Life Marked By Availability vs. 36-41

   A. Peter was working with a crowd when he was called to minister to one

   B. Are we available for ministering opportunities or are we waiting for a more convenient time ?

   C. Peter went to a Disciple who had passed away but was mourned by the Congregation

IV. A Life Marked By Dependency vs. 40-41

   A. Peter put the people out and then prayed to God - he could do nothing without God's power

   B. After he prayed Dorcas arose from the dead

   C. The result was many people believed

V. A Life Marked By Flexibility vs 42-43

   A. Peter stayed many days with Simon a Tanner

   B. Peter , a man of racial prejudice , then was used to convert the first Gentile ( Cornelius ) in Acts 9

VI . If we follow the pattern life shown by Peter , God will surely bless our lives
