WHEN HUSBANDS LOVE THEIR WIVES

I. When a husband loves his wife:

A. He gives her the greatest sense of security she can have.

1. He loves her unconditionally and would never consider leaving her.

2. His love does not depend on her giving back.

B. He gives his wife the greatest feeling of intimacy possible between two people. I Peter 3:7

1. "Dwell with" means complete intimacy and oneness.

2. They will share all things in life whether they be good or bad.

C. He gives her the greatest sense of identity she will ever know. Ephesians 5

1. Her worth is co-mingled with that of her husband; they are as one being.

2. A husband's job is to develop himself while helping her develop her goals and desires.

D. He gives her the greatest sense of spirituality. I Peter 3

1. He gives honor so that their prayer life may be strengthened.

2. Spiritual sharing is the greatest between a husband and wife because they know everything about each other.

II. A husband can strengthen, complete and improve all aspects of his wife's

life or he can hurt and tear her down in more ways than anyone else.
