WHEN WOMEN SERVE GOD

  I.  Look at three faithful women.
     A.  Sarah
     B.  Mary, Martha's sister
     C.  Lydia
 II. Sarah
     A.  She laughed when the angel said she was to have a son.  Genesis 18:9-16
     B.  Isaac was born.  Genesis 21:1-7
     C.  Abraham offered Isaac.  Genesis 22:1-12
     D.  Consider Sarah's faith in God when she let Isaac go with Abraham.
III. Mary - Luke 10:38-42
     A.  Martha
          1.  She was distracted from Jesus by serving.
          2.  She doubted and asked Jesus "don't you care?"
          3.  She was worried.
          4.  She focused on "many things".
     B.  Mary
          1.  She was calm and focused on Jesus.  Verse 39
          2.  She chose the better thing.  Verse 42
          3.  She listened to Jesus and sought the kingdom.
          4.  She focused on the ONE thing, Jesus.
IV. Lydia - Acts 16:13-15
       A.  Even though she was successful in business, she took time for worship.
       B.  Even though she was far from home (Thyatira) she was faithful to God.
       C.  She accepted the truth when she heard it.
 V.  Take Homes - When women follow God:
       A.  They impact their family
       B.  They impact the Church.
       C.  They impact eternity.
VI. Final thought.  Ezekiel 19:10
