THE BIBLE ON TRIAL - INTRODUCTION

  I.  The Bible is under attack .

      A.  The DaVinci Code says that Jesus married Mary Magdelene and had a son.

      B.  The gospel of Judas says that Judas was Jesus' all and helped him trick the people.

      C.  Many people think that the Bible is from man and full of errors.

  II.The Bible speaks for itself.  II Timothy 3:16

      A.”All" includes Old and New Testaments.

      B. "Scripture" is an original autograph penned by inspired men.

      C. "God breathed" means that God told each writer what to say and allowed him to use his

own writing style.

      D. "Useful" can bring about change.

      E.  It shows us the truth, exposes our rebellion, corrects our mistakes and trains us to live God's way.

 III. Why do I believe the Bible is true?  

       A.  It is historically accurate.

       B.  The unity of the Bible speaks for itself.

       C.  It is impartial in truth.

       D.  The scripture is fulfilled.

 IV. Take homes

       A.  The scripture claims to be completely true and without error.  John 17:17

       B.  The scripture claims to be the final authority in your life.  II Timothy 3:16

       C.  The scripture claims that faith comes by hearing the Word of God.  Romans 10:17

       D.  The scripture claims to have power to change lives. Hebrews 4:12
