GIVE ME THIS MOUNTAIN

Joshua 14

I. Story Of Two Elderly Men ( Joshua and Caleb )
   A. God told Joshua he was old and he needed to make ready - Chapter 13
   B. Caleb reminds Israel about his life and Moses promised him a piece of land in Canaan - this mountain

II. Caleb's Confidence  vs. 10-11
   A. He believed what God told him in response to his faithfulness
   B. I am 85 years old and in good health; he was ready to do battle for the Lord

III. Caleb's Courage  vs. 12
   A. Give me this mountain that God promised me
   B. I can take the mountain and its Giants ( Anakim ) because God is on my side
   C. Remember the mountain should have been taken 45 years earlier
   D. Much suffering had taken place because of the people's unbelief

IV. Take Homes
   A. We never arrive - we don't retire in the Lord
   B. God always has unfinished business for us
   C. God wants us to THRIVE not JUST SURVIVE!
