When God Fights For Us

Joshua 10:1-43

I. Israel Has To Defend Gideon From The Amorite Kings Because Of Their Promise  vs. 1-4

II. Preparation For The Fight  vs. 5-12

   A. God promises total victory

   B. When we pray we need to ask for big things vs. 12

III. God Answers vs. 12-14

   A. God gives Joshua the " longest " day

   B. God proves he is more powerful than their gods ( EL of the Sun and BAAL of the weather )

IV. God Humiliates Their Kings vs. 22-26

   A. They hid in caves

   B. They came out on their knees with feet on their necks

   C. Joshua killed them and hung their bodies from a tree

V. Unconditional Surrender To God vs. 40-42

   A. Surrender

   B. No aliegance , no compromise

   C. Total victory because God faught for Isreal

VI. Take Homes

   A. It's all about serving God

       i) no status quo

       ii) must move forward

   B. He keeps his word - we do not

       i) Joshua asked God to do a HUGE thing

       ii) God did it because Joshua served him faithfully

   C. God still performs miracles
