I. Three Ai's are the center of our lesson

   A. Ai - village where Israel was defeated ( vs. 2-3 )

   B. Achan - his sin caused the defeat ( vs. 20-23 )

       1. Saw - things God told him were not his

       2. Coveted - things God told him that he could not have

       3. Took - things dedicated to God

       4. Hid - things to cover his sin

   C. Achor - Valley of Trouble in which Achan and his family were stoned to death

and burned ( vs. 26 )

II. Consequences Of Sin

   A. God held Israel to blame for Achan's sin ( vs. 11-12 )

   B. Many of us try to hide our sin and don't realize how it impacts others

   C. It will ALWAYS be found out!

III. We Rationalize Sin

   A. Nobody knows

   B. It doesn't hurt anyone

   C. Not that bad

IV. Take Homes

   A. Vulnerable to sin when things are going well

   B. God takes sin more seriously than we do

   C. One person's sin can affect the family and the Church
