THE DAY THE WALLS CAME DOWN
Joshua 6:1-27
I. We need a winning strategy in dealing with Satan.
A. Satan is our toughest enemy.
B. We lose our confidence in the heat of battle.
C. We tend to act like losers.
D. We can't depend on ourselves.
II. Jericho was a walled city .
A. The outer wall was 15 feet of stone topped with 25 feet of mud.
B. Higher on the hill was a second wall 46 feet high.
III . There was a plan for victory. Verses 1-5
A. The plan begins with worship. 5:15
B. The Ark of the Covenant was the weapon, not
bows and arrows.
IV. There was a path to victory.
A. The people marched around the walls carryingThe Ark.
B. The walls collapsed because God caused them to fall.
V. The promise was fulfilled. Verses 21-27
A. A curse was place on anyone who tried to rebuild the walls.
B. The spoils of victory were consecrated to God.
C. The city was destroyed except for Rahab and her family.
VI. What have I learned?
A. God's strategies may seem strange to me.
B. God doesn't leave us to our own strategies.
C. We must move on from worship to action.
D. God can tear our walls down and use us in His service..
