A SHADY LADY STORY
Joshua 2:1-24
I. God made Abraham three promises .
A. The promises were made 685 years earlier.
B. God would give Abraham's descendents Canaan Land .
C. God would make of Abraham a great nation.
D. God would bless the earth through Abraham's seed which was Jesus.
II. There were walls around Rahab .
A. Rahab was a woman.
B. Rahab was a prostitute.
C. Rahab was poor.
III. God confronts Rahab. verses 1-7
A. The spies enter her house by God's providence.
B. Rahab must have been longing for God. Acts 8,10
IV. God convinces Rahab. verses 8-11
V. Rahab's response is action. verses 12-20
A. She moved in spite of the walk.
B. She was hungry for God.
VI. How did Rahab act?
A. She acted on evidence.
B. Rahab had little time and acted quickly.
VII. What have I learned?
A. God can use anybody.
B. God can change lives.
C. God can see things in people we can't see.
VIII. What are the results of Rahab's actions?
A. She married David's great-great grandfather.
B. She is one of only two women of faith mentioned
in Hebrews 11.
