PROMISED LAND LIVING

Joshua 1:1-8

     I.  Why do I need Promised Land Living?

      A.  I need something solid to hold on to.

      B.  I can't change my life by myself.

      C.  God has a purpose for my life.

      D.  I was not made for this world.

      E.  God's people need unity.

 II. The book of Joshua teaches us about Joshua's life.

       A.  Joshua was a soldier.

       B.  Joshua was Moses' aide.

       C.  Joshua was one of the spies in the Promised Land.

       D.  Joshua was Moses' successor.

III.The book of Joshua teaches us about God's people.

      A.  God's people were in Egypt suffering death, bondage and slavery.

      B.  God's people crossed the Red Sea finding their salvation place.

      C.  God's people wandered in the wilderness, their place of struggle and growth.

      D.  God's people came to the Promied Land , their place of victory.

 IV. The book of Joshua teaches me about my life.

       A.  I must struggle with sin.

       B.  I must find salvation.

       C.  I am looking for the Promised Land and victory.

  V.  What does Promised Land Living involve?

       A.  It involves God's promise.  verses 1-4

       B.  It involves God's presence.  verses 5, 9, 17

       C.  It involves God's power in my life.  verses 7-8

       D.  It involves God's unity.  verses 12-18

  IV. What have I learned?

       A.  God leads; I follow.

       B.  I should pray for strength and courage not for easy living.

       C.  We should do God's work in unity.

       D.  God will always be with me.

       E.  God always keeps His promises.
